Biography

Ben Cohen's work in podcasting and web audio is the latest development in a long career as an award-winning audio producer. He has fifteen years experience in radio production, most recently at BBC World Service. As well as this he has worked extensively, training others to communicate effectively on-air.

Three-times winner of Andrew Cross broadcasting awards for Best Trail or Promotion. Items featured two years running in annual BBC World Service programme Pick of the Year.

Since 2001 Ben has been working regularly for BBC World Service, including two years producing the BBC World Service weekly religious affairs programme (with a spell in pop music for variety). During the five years he produced a number of highly acclaimed features, programmes and series, and assisted in training overseas reporters. He has worked elsewhere in BBC Radio, and for a number of other companies including Guardian Unlimited Website, RNIB and the National Geographic Channel. He also writes for the web and script editing.

Prior to this, he worked for five years as a local radio producer , responsible for two weekly programmes, winning a number of awards and commendations. During the same period he was also responsible for media training work with the faith communities in the area, making scores of shrinking violets fit for broadcast.

He has also worked variously as a programme presenter and producer, news journalist and features maker within the BBC and ILR.
